Default FPDM gasket?

Hello all!
I’ve researched the heck out of this and can’t seem to find an answer. I replaced the FPDM in my 2005. In doing so, there is a grey rubber gasket that I’m assuming came out of the harness connector for the FPDM. I’ve put it back in and tried to connect the FPDM but it won’t connect correctly. If I take it out, it connects just fine. Am I missing something? Anyone have this issue? Appreciate any advice!

I don't recall a gasket on my '07's FPDM's plug. If it is there, it's inside the female half (that's attached to the wires), and on the outer side of the male portion on the FPDM.
Maybe you just aren't getting it in deep enough? Mine had a wire break after something chewed on the wire, it actually looked mostly OK on the back ... so I lightly sanded the back, painted it clear, reattached with spacers,. Was in 2010.
