Ford Sync Update Problems
I did the download for om the ford website for the usb install. Not sure what version it was but comes up as DE8T-14D544-AC. The usb is formated properly. I unzip the file and move it onto the usb drive. Syncmyride, install and autoinstall are the files i move over onto usb drive. When i put it in my truck the truck doesnt recognize any files and dont know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi Azzyklown,
That's version 4.4. It was mistakenly added to accounts after being removed due to issues. Please disregard that update. Our engineers are currently working to release version 4.6.

Job well done. It instills a great amount of confidence in me that:
1. The release was mistakenly released. I worked for yrs in software testing and engineering. Software does not get released by mistake. It wasn't READY for release due to a lack of testing or matrix coverage.
2. The release STILL appears on my syncmyride page. That's awesome, PULL it off the site if it doesn't work. If the software team can't pull a web page entry then things are real bad.
3. The button to download update just loops around and around.
4. The syncmyride page STILL wants me to confirm my last update from July 2015 which I DID confirm that day. Those files are long gone.
So all I wanted was the radio to return to whatever it was using before shutting the truck off. That doesn't seem to be too much to ask. As it stands it reverts to line in, unless the radio is powered off. In that case it will return where it left off when powering back on. So again, I have little to no confidence in a resolution. Guess how that affects my brand loyalty when the wife wants a new car?

Back in the day... My b in law worked for gm. The farmers would come in w the ac delco set to some agonizing oldy lawrence welk type station so the young guys would just turn them off. If was common to have the farmer drop by next month to complain radio hasnt worked since last visit. Guess some of their grandsons are programming at ford now!

And yes this may well influence my Ford loyalty when I trade this one in on something newer. I know, it seems stupid to some to have something as small as the Sync influence my decision on a new vehicle, but if Ford can't handle something as small as properly testing software before it's released, or removing it from their website ASAP when they discovered it had bugs then how are they handling larger issues?
