Ford D60 vs GM D60
Looking to swap my D44 for a D60 front. Looking on Craigslist and such there's lots of Chev and GM dana 60s around here, but not many fords. Would I be able to do a clean swap of my ford d44 with a GM d60? I can't find anything saying it's not possiable, but not a hell of a lot stating what would need to be modded to fit it. What is your opinion on this?

it's not as simple as Chev -vs- Ford.
Ford = driver side pumpkin, high pinion and depending on the year, varying length tubes/axle shafts side to side, and older kingpin or newer balljoints.
Chev = passenger side pumpkin, low pinion, kingpins.
The kingpin debate is kind of a mute point, they are using BJ knuckles on F350+ so to say the kingpins are stronger isn't exactly true. Longer lasting maybe, easier to get high steer on, yes, but even off road racers (KOH, Ultra4, etc) are using BJ front axles with great success.
Figure out what side pumpkin you need, high or low pinion, then how much money you want to spend swapping the axle in there... that matters more then the Ford -vs- Chev debate.
