Ford or Chevy Most Popular?

That chart says it all, love it or hate it GM sold about 60K more pickups then ford and that's just the 1/2 tons. The Chevy/GMC C and K trucks are nearly identical in every way. I wonder how well that Lincoln version f-150 used to sell.

Yep, if they combined Chevy and GM sales, those "best selling vehicle in America xx years running" and "best selling truck in America xx years running", would both be void and the half ton Chevy/GM would be ahead.
Also, you often here them use the term "Ford F-Series" in advertisement, this includes up to the F750, so again, the numbers are kind of skewed when you see people listing the huge 750k+ sold last year.

Ok so sorry I worded it wrong. The f150 has been the best selling vehicle in America, every year since 1948. Here's a link to the top selling vehicles of 2013.

Regardless, yes, the F-150 is back at the top as the 'best selling vehicle', but it certainly has not been the best selling vehicle in America since 1948.
It just regained that title again a couple years back after losing out to either Toyota or Honda I believe.
Again, it's hard to nail down the exact timeline, I'm sure with a little research it could be done. But every link I read, it's claimed that the "Ford F-series" have been the best selling vehicles (plural) for the past 35 years or so.
The f150 itself, has not been the best selling vehicle in America for all those years, but when combines with the other models the F-series has.
It makes no sense at all and should not work that way. It's like Ford found a way to exploit the claim for their own gain.
F-series is not a vehicle, it's a line of trucks, how they can compare a whole line of trucks versus other single vehicles, makes no sense.

All this talk about combining Chevy/GMC is stupid. Yeah, put them together and they outsell the F150. But they are both different brands underneath General Motors. General Motors is the parent company to both, but Chevrolet and GMC are two totally different brands. Just like Buick and Cadillac are two different brands. Just like Ford and Lincoln are two different brands.
Hence why the sales of Chevy trucks and GMC trucks are not combined. As the sales of Fords and Lincolns are not combined. Though all their vehicles are run on the same platforms.

"F-150 is part of the Ford F-Series truck lineup, America's best-selling truck for 37 consecutive years and America's best-selling vehicle for 32 years."
Straight from Fords corporate site.
Notice it just says "best-selling vehicle for 32 years" not consecutive years.

Again, like I stated in a previous post - those numbers in that link are the Ford F-series(150-750), not the F-150 alone.
