"Ford / Chevy advertising / steel vs. aluminum bed / GENERAL discussion" thread

That is the problem, we are not, anymore.
The abuses come with the territory. That is the price of liberty; eternal vigilance. Leave people to their automony, liberty, rights, and all would be fine as long as each person does not use threat or force on another. The government is notorious for threat and force.
Such controls were emplaced because of the same crap going on now, knee jerk emotional reactions and outcry rather than cognizance.

I get that, but if crash standard testing numbers back up that ford performs better in a crash test, I was saying that it wouldn't be wise to point out repairs were cheaper, even tho the truck wasn't as safe, which was the rebuttal you figured GM to make.

Or to allay any public misconception about the aluminum bodies safety. Yours to construe, it's the art of advertisement.

Should we go back to 80+ hour work week, child labor, no safety standards for workers in dangerous jobs? Keep the government completely hands off? Quick get your 12 gauge and watch that Mexican border. Sorry but auto industry may be in the lime light on this one but there not the only ones. For you to say millions should loose there jobs because it's survival of the fittest is ignorant. I'm sure you would feel much different if your job was on the line.
You have excellent use of fallacies. Post hoc, straw man, false equivalence, appeal to emotion...

Does anyone besides me notice that whenever there is a natural disaster, the first thing that people say is "Where is FEMA?"
The recent floods in Houston, Texas, the Independence state, showed that. The water was still on the roads and people were on the news whining about the Federal Govt. not being there yet. They sure did not want to be " left to their own autonomy".
Take note of that, it happens at every disaster, in every state.
And when help did arrive, it came in on the Interstate Highway System, built by the Federal Govt., with taxpayer and road user money.
When was the last time you saw private enterprise build a road? Oh yeah, they do. They are called toll roads, and most of them have failed.

Those same looney tunes that spout that drivel also would eliminate Social Security and Medicare. Are you ready to have your parents move in with you in their old age? I'm sure you could afford their medical care. Yeah, right!

Aaaaand now we're seeing the answer to all the "why was this thread moved to Off Topic?" questions in the seven other Chevy / Ford commercial threads.
All threads derail eventually.
