Indeed. And there are far fewer 5.0s listed with Ford's Certified Pre Owned vehicle dealer program. I had to look through 110 Super Crew F150s before I found *one* 5.0... and it disappeared quickly. I had to look through another 20 trucks before I found a second offering. I made that one mine (but had to drive 50 miles to get it).

That was in April this year. Six weeks later my local dealer just 10 miles away had two Ingot Silver 5.0 XLTs. All four 5.0 trucks listed including mine were purchased by these three dealers from Enterprise.

If someone wants the amazing EcoBoost, all they have to do is turn around. If someone wants a 5.0, they'll almost have to order it or spend some time lookin'.

that's what happens when dinosaurs go extinct. They get real hard to find...

When I was shopping I found 6 on the lot that were 5.0, but none in the Lariat trim. It would have made ZERO difference which engines was in the truck, the 3.5 or 5.0, as long as the truck had the options I was looking for. I have faith that both are good strong long lasting engines. My last EB lasted the life of the truck!

tsigwing, Hahaha! Good one.

At least not on the trucks, but caddy runs a sweet TT V6.
Agh... that's right! But before that, were there small superchargers on any of those CTS type vehickles? Thank you, my good man.

CTS-V ran a supercharged V8 for a while. Now the ATS-V has a TT V6. I think the CTS-V still runs a blown v8, not sure.

FWIW, Seven Marine converted the LS9 for marine usage, and sells the 557 and 627 outboards that are essentially LS9 supercharged GM motors....as outboards.

Actually it's what happens when everyone buys them up quick, nothing left on the lot but ecobusts.

Yep, it's nice having an engine that's in demand, sorta like the old 7.3!

I will just keep my 6.2 with a real power steering pump, 411 hp and 436 foot pounds of torque

I need a V8 in my truck. Simple as that. 6.2 will hopefully be in my next truck. If its a F250, so be it. I not only appreciate the power (enough for my needs), but the sound as well. Nothing like hearing a truck that sounds like a Civic.

Personally, I think both engines are very reliable. I would agree though that the V8 is probably a bit more reliable and easier to work on--just my opinion.
I wonder if that last bit isn't the basis of most of those comments. They'd rather WORK ON the V8 and therefore it's "better." I'm not sure given the relative age of the V6 EB how they can make the assertion that the V8 is "more reliable."

Either way, I'm pretty happy with my EB.
