Thumbs down Factory Door Code

I recently left my truck unlocked, I know stupid me, someone went into my truck and took my manual and factory door code. Is there a way to change the factory code with out changing the security module?
Ford told me it as about $500 to change the module, I can't believe that Ford would have such a security flaw as this with their cars. If you know the sell your truck and know the factory code you could technically go into the truck anytime you wanted to.
Does anybody have any solution for this problem?

AFAIK the factory set code can't be changed without changing hardware. Did the dealer specify what they were going to replace for $500?

They said that the had to change the Body security Module.
Thanks for the response that seems to be the case that it can't be changed. I now have security cameras up just incase they try to come back and get into my truck before I get the module changed.

There are ways to change it but you need the factory code to change it seems. The other issue is the manual says that the factory code will work even if the code is changed, so if they have the code they will get in.

What year is your f150? It says you will need 2 programmed passive anti-theft keys. To display the factory set code in the information display insert a key into the ignition, turn the ignition on for a few seconds.
Turn the ignition off and remove key.
Insert the second key into the ignition and turn ignition on.
The factory code will display for a few seconds.
The code may not display until after any other warning messages.
Hope it helps. Mine is a 2013.

As stated, the factory code cannot be changed unless a module is replaced by the dealer. You can display it, you can add your own, but you cannot change the factory code.

Maybe everybody knows this but me - is the factory code actually printed in the owners manual or did the OP have it written in there? Just don't want to have this happen to me but I like having the owners manual in the glove box...

I just went out and checked - no cards in my owners manual pouch. There are two plastic card holder things on the outside of the pouch where I assume it might have been but both are empty. I guess the previous owner must have removed the card.
