Default A 4R70W, Right?

....can't explain why the tran would behave the way it is simply due to a fluid and filter change unless the old filter gasket was left in the intake port. If the old gasket is left in place, fluid circulation troubles arise.
(Of course we know for sure that a new gasket was used.)

I suppose you drained the torque converter.....not much sense in changing the fluid unless that is done.

Ford recommends Motorcraft Mercon fluid of course, but the 4R70W can live with any good brand of Mercon/Dexron III or better; Mercon V is highly recommended......or better yet, Chrysler ATF+4.

yes we did drain the torq and new filters put on, I even checked the old fluid make sure I did not miss anything. So I should go back to the mecron?????, I did turn off overdrive, but thinking not to drive till I change the fluid????
