Are you referring to the "Doo doo doo" chime?

Ok, if the key is NOT in the ignition, it shouldn't do the doo doo doo, but it will if the key IS in the ignition, then you get the chime. I know it's a great tune, but as of yesterday, mine doesn't do it, thanks to Forscan. Plus, it should only happen AFTER you turn the key to start it. Look up forscan on this forum, and you'll also see a lot of other things you can do to your truck. Here's a quick video to get you started. I don't think this video is the best, but you can search for others, and after I did mine, with also adding Bambi mode, Global windows, and extended turn signal flashes on what I call the soft touch on the turn lever, I saw it's actually very easy to do once to do your first change.

I have a 2013 that chimes when the key is inserted into the ignition whether the key is turned or not. I was looking at some stuff on ForScan the other day in mode 6 and noticed "fault" on the KEY-IN and noticed my door chime had not sounded. The last time I left the key in the ignition after turning the truck off was last summer to my memory and the chime had sounded then. Turns out I had to have the lock cylinder replaced. I think the key in switch does more than just chime it also is the wake-up signal to the PCM I believe I remember reading. Maybe it doesn't chime in later models but it does in mine by just inserting the key. Saved me from locking my keys in last summer!

Check your car's manual to see if any security or alarm settings are enabled. If you have an additional alarm or anti-theft system, make sure it is set up correctly. If you can't turn it off, a system reset may be necessary.
