Default Exhaust issues

2004 F-150 5.4 RWD 207000 mi
recent repairs and jobs done:
6months ago plugs
oil changed twice since
Air filter a week ago
new calipers pads rotors brake fluid flush 1 month ago

About a month ago was offroading and ended up pinned on a log which once freed made truck sound like I put Flowmasters on it. Noticed slight decrease in mpg. Some fumes in cabin...Didn't notice anything major underneath so along I went. Than I noticed a previous repair on passenger side exhaust pipe after C.C there was a Gap in pipe where connection fitting was put in I assume). So I did a temporary repair on that and took a 1000mi trip. Along my trip it got so hot my floorboard under gas pedal started to melt my boot. So I was close to destination after stuffing some crushed aluminum cans in where it was melting. I popped the hood and the drivers side more so is completely covered in black soot....fumes have gotten worse.

I'm now at a point where I am able to make repairs...just not sure where to even start.

Local exhaust shop would be my first stop.
