Default Entry scratches what to do?

I noticed some deep scratches on the driver side of my truck. It only has 6000km and they are extremely deep, I'm super pissed and not sure what to do. Does anyone think I can get these fixed under warranty or and I'm on the hook for a clear design flaw and how can I protect from this happening again?

I would venture to guess that you have a dog that climbs in & out of the truck.... I'm pretty sure warranty isn't going to cover this (Dog or no Dog)

As for protecting it once you get it fixed, you might could find a clear plastic to cover the area...kind of like the type some people put on the front of their trucks to protect from rock chips

My dog has never been in the truck. I'm thinking dirt got in and from driving on ****ty Ontario roads all the potholes the bouncing caused rubbing. There's some deep scratches and some light ones that might buff out with enough work.

Looks like every day wear from getting in and out and dragging your feet across the sill

It's fromgetting in and out, normal stuff. I bought a set of these. Make sure the weather is warm and the paint is clean or they will not stick!

Being honest, your truck is pretty dirty; looking at all the tiny pebbles and such on the door sill area tells a lot on how the truck is used. It looks like its used for typical truck duties. Even if it was repainted, it would most likely look as it does now within a few months, based on how that picture indicates its use.

Maybe you should look into having those rocker panels painted with a rhino liner type coating, similar to what the 4x4 folks do, as they get heavy wear down there as well.

No dealer will give you a warranty on paint with it looking like it is.

I will add another vote for the sill guard. They'll cover up any scratches already there, and prevent more. In addition to making sure it's warm (or you're in a garage), I'd say take your time and be careful when applying, because they're tough to get perfectly straight.

Warranty? You cannot be serious.

Wear and tear isn't a manufacturer's defect.

Follow the advice about and get a sill guard.

Same. Have sill guards for my 2016 on both my driver and passenger side doors and they work amazing.
