In NC police use blue and fire/ems use red. 99% of people move out of our way. It's all about the color. I wouldn't move for green either.

I'm getting lights because our Dept requires them if you are using your pov to respond to the scene which I am because I am fire police and once I get all the classes done I will be fire police captian because the one we have now never makes any calls

Hmmm...some of our older trucks have red/blue lights but were moving towards all red for Fire. EMS are also on board with the red lights. Police use the red/blue combo so that might be the reason for the change. Green is a new thing so I don't think many people get the idea that it's an emergency vehicle behind them. IMO green gets peoples attention and gets them thinking "what's that", if you combine the green with red or blue then it might send a clearer message that it is an emergency vehicle.

I think there should be national regulations for light colors like police should be blue and fire should be red and fire police should be red and blue

Police use different colors depending on department. On unmarked cars, departments tend to use different colors and locations to designate what department the car belongs to. See it with to designate between county and state where I live as well. Red and white seems to be pretty common on ems and fire.

This may be a bit off topic and an odd question, but what do Fire Police do? It sounds weird but I'm not familar with it. I've heard of Fire Police but I never understood what they do. Could you shed some light on this?

We only have green lights on personal vehicles responding to the hall for a call. Our trucks all have red. And yes it is just enough to get someone wondering what is going on but not enough to move.
