I run 93. I only get around .4 mpg more but it just seems to run a little better. A tuner on SVTPerformance did dyno on a 5.0. One dyno run on 87 and one dyno run on 93. The 93 octane yielded 10 more HP on the same day, same car, same dyno. So, I would imagine that with this turbo engine that the results would probably be similar.

87 here, a couple places still have pure gasoline so I try to buy gas there unless I just have to fill up.

No probs with 87.

I've checked it by hand calculating and by the dash meter and it's allways very close to each other. Three trips to SF area from San Diego and two were at 22 plus when I got home and one was between 19 and 20 as I did 80mph for most of that trip.

Yesterday I drove from San Marcos to Chula Vista, about 60 miles, and decided to reset the mpg indicator and it showed 27.5 when I got off the freeway. It drops quick in city driving giving me about a 19 average but with the amount of driving I do I'm very happy with it. The fuel savings is making my monthly payment compared to the 06 5.4 that I had a few years ago.
I have one on the way, a 2wd model with the 3.15 rear end. I'm hoping to manage overall mileage upwards of 20mpg. My commute is roughly half highway and half 'city' (suburban six-lane road that can either be an easy straight shot or a gridlock nightmare depending on time of day, how I hit the lights, and whether or not there are idiots clogging the fast lanes doing 10mph under the speed limit).

87, and in the Rocky Mountain West, that means buying "mid-grade" gasoline.
