Default Easy LIFT tailgate

have a 2015 F150 Platinum, the torsion bar in the tailgate no longer works. Ford dealers wants $1000 dollars to replace. Not going to happen. Does anyone out there know of an easy lift that works? All the lift assists do not ease the ability’s of LIFTING the tailgate they are for slowing the dropping of the tailgate. Do any of these gas shock things actually assist in LIFTING the tailgate? Thanks.

no they are just to control the opening of the tail gate, the torsion bar AFAIK is the only thing that helps in closing it

Default Lift

you know they have the same type of gas shocks on hatchbacks and I could be wrong on this but those shocks help raise a hatchback. Why couldn’t you take these shocks designed to slow the drop and turn them upside down am I wrong on thinking this would help raise the tailgate just a thought.

more than anything on rear liftgates/hatches, all they really do is support the hatch when it is up, they do help open the hatch but that isn't their main job

If I get what you are saying, then no. The gas shocks only push, not pull.

I added what I believe to be the factory shock absorber think I bought from Taska Ford?
i have a 2018 with the slide out step in the tailgate. It was very heavy to raise and lower.
After adding the shock was much easier to raise.

it won't work struts on hatchbacks lift the door you'd have to mount the struts on the bumper and outside of tailgate to get them to lift
