Default Dropped 3BL screw between bed and cab

Im ashamed to admit this, but I was in a rush when I was making my new 3rd brake light gasket, and when I went to reinstall the lamp, I dropped one of the mounting screws and it fell in the gap between the bed and the cab of the truck. I got underneath the truck for a good 10 minutes and couldnt even get an idea as to where it landed. It wasnt on thw ground. Has this happened to anyone? if so, where did you find it?

I think I can hear it rattling when I drive over bumps
Well the cab and bed aren't joined so there's a gap... it either fell on the ground or landed on a frame rail or cross member. Grab an extendable magnet and wave it around if nothing sticks check the ground...

Or jack it up and carefully rock the truck so you can listen to the noise and pinpoint where it's coming from

Or go to lowes and pick up a new screw

yeah, i already got a new screw and the one I dropped never hit the ground. It make a 'clank clank' sound and landed somewhere on/in the chassis. Ive layed underneath the truck a few times and reached everywhere I can reach, including feeling around on top of the fuel tank and the chassis in that area..
Ive also gotten every visual of those areas that there is to get...no luck.

If I had a nickel for every fastener and small socket/tool I've dropped and never recovered over the years, I could have retired 10 years early. The fasteners never bothered me, it was those $30 1/4" drive u-joint sockets that stung the most.

About like dropping a nail or screw into grass...Most times you can look for an hour with a supermagnet and not find it...But then break out the lawn mower and you're sure to get a flat tire....

I believe some dude named Murphy explains it in a 'law'

No kidding lol, I dropped a gauge cluster mounting screw into my steering column when I was doing my gauge swap and that thing is GONE. Even though I can hear it at times....there's the faint sound of "jingling coins" coming from the dash in front of me when I go over certain bumps now. I've done all the searching I can w/ a flashlight and that screw is nowhere in sight. Moral of the story, don't be in a hurry when you're doing stuff to the truck involving screw removal.
