Default Doc Fee???

I am buying a car from my father under the "D" PLan. His dealership is charging a $349 doc fee. Is this allowed??? Please help!

Yes it is allowed. But you can always tell em you're not going to pay their "paperwork" fee and see what they say.

Thanks, Ric. How does that typically pan out? Do most dealerships agree to reduce it? I am ok with a $100 doc fee, but 349 is too high for me.

They are gonna do the "We charge that for EVERYBODY, so we have to charge you", CRAP. Unless this is something your Dad can help with. You may wind up with taking it or walking.
