Can you fit a 7.3 in it? In my opinion, that 7.3 is a monster. It has no holes, and my fathers gets 18 MPG - half the time when he's pulling a trailer. If my opinion means anything to you, don't put a 6.0 in it, as it's one of the only engines Ford has had any real problems with.

Even if it did fit your suspension would need to be completly upgraded. The 7.3 is not a light engine. I highly doubt it will even come close to fitting though. IMO

or you could drop a 14 liter Cummins straight six in the bed of your son's 95 F-150. Check out the link, it makes for a very interesting read and a totally different connotation to the original question about a diesel F150.

this is a brief overview of the project

and here is the whole shabang

Chevy made a 1/2 ton truck with a 6.2L or 6.5L diesel, I have personally ridden in one. They did make the older trucks with diesel engines in them (1980's models), but the one I rode in was like a '93 or something, had "6.2 liter or 6.5L" right on the creases of the hood. Truck ran very well, never gave any trouble to the guy that owned it.

From wikipedia:

The General Motors light-truck 6.2 and 6.5 L Diesel engines were optional in all 1982 through 2000 Chevrolet and GMC C/K series pickup trucks, Suburbans, Blazer/Jimmy, Tahoe/Yukon, vans, motor homes, and the AM General HMMWV. The ready availability and low cost of these engines has made them popular for conversion projects and kit vehicles. These engines are often a popular choice for conversion in Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, and similar vehicles.

ApplicationsSo, Chevy is not new to this and I look forward to the next 1/2 ton truck to incorporate a diesel, I could care less the brand.

I also heard some chatter about the Nissan Titan possibly being equipped with a small diesel engine. I hope so, someone needs to dammit

Yeah, my grandfather has one. 2wd and a 4 speed got him about 30mpg everywhere. He knew someone that put a small turbo on another diesel ranger and would get 50+mpg on the highway
