I bought a 2008 Lariat 2 weeks ago, fully loaded for 26K. Deals can be had aplenty
before the salesman knew they had just brought this truck in i had them do a quote for me for a fx4 it was going to be 10k more and the xlts werent much cheaper

I am not going to say it was a bad deal but I know here you can get a new supercrew 2 wheel drive for around 20K. Mainly because of rebates and discounts. Plus with new you get 5/60K warranty.
But I gave 22K for my screw XL. Know you can get them for starting at 20K and then talking your way down from there.

yeah if i wanted a 2wd i could have gotten one cheaper, but this is a 4wd. and that is what i wanted. i wasnt going to settle for 2wd, i actually use my 4wd i especially dont want to be towing 5000lbs through mud with 2wd.and i have done that before i had to use 4wd or i would have had to be pulled out. i go to an offroad park that the whole lot is dirt and it rains.

by the way, they are covering the truck bumper to bumper for the next 60k for that price.

If YOU are happy, then it was a good deal. That is all that counts here.

Otherwise, I think you did good.

4WD is a good investment if you live up north in a snow climate. If you live in the south (like I used to) or out in Hawaii (like I do now) then 4WD may seem worthless. Well unless you plan on sinking $10k-$15k in mods on top of the $30k pricetag and beating the crap out of your truck offroading it, but who does that?

I live in Maryland, we are known to get some good snow now and again, but normally nothing to write home about. I got a 4x4 because I hunt and there will times when the hunting property will be muddy and I need to be able to get around. And it comes in handy, even when you may not expect it to. When I went to pick-up my new(to me) camping trailer, the guy had it parked in his driveway. His driveway was not paved and they had recently had plenty of rain, so it was a little muddy. If I had not had a 4x4, I would not have been able to back up to the trailer to hook it up and tow it out.

Most of the time, I do not need 4x4, but I WANT 4x4.

the whole purpose of this thread was to see if i got a good deal on that truck, or should i have payed less, didnt really matter it was done. but i have a habit of making decisions fast and then wondering later. a year and a half ago i was planning on getting a truck the 97 was the first one i found that i liked and i got it. i was happy with it and still am. today i was bored waiting on someone drove in the lot and then this happens. but again i wouldnt have settled for 2wd id rather own a 2 year old 9k mile truck with 4wd than a new one with 2wd
