Default did i do good?

im no longer an owner of a 97 f150, i have it until monday, but then i go pick up an 06 f150 so my question is did i make a good deal or get screwed. i traded the 97 with supercab 4x4 4.6l shortbed, 155k miles for 06 lease return supercrew 4x4 5.4l with 9k miles. pricing was 20,500-4000 trade= 16500

I'm sorry but that doesn't sound like a great deal considering the employee discounts, $4K rebates, and some dealers are automatically knocking off $10K-$13K for new supercrew. I was looking at a 5.4 XLT supercrew XLT for $18K (asking). Sure it was 4X2 but still, a FX4 can be had for $21K new.

I bought a 2008 Lariat 2 weeks ago, fully loaded for 26K. Deals can be had aplenty

Out here in Hawaii I'm averaging about 300-350 miles a month so in the next 2 years at that I'll only put 8400 miles on the truck. When I lived in MS though I was averaging about 2100 miles per month.

To the OP, the deal doesn't sound too bad. Did you talk price before you mentioned a trade? It seems you always do worse if you mention a trade-in immediately.
