Default Custom Tune

Just looking to see if anyone has found a custom tune (for SCT) that corrects Ford's lazy shift/throttle lag issue? I have a 2011 F150 Lariat with the 5.0. The engine is great but the trans hinders its performance something awful. Quick example is making a turn from a stop at an intersection and before the turn is completed the trans is in 3rd gear. Give it a little throttle and it just bogs down, give it more throttle and it slams down to first and takes off like a rocket. Ford failed me and others on their trans software but I'm hoping that some entity has found a solution to this.

Thanks,

Mike

They all do - MPT, 5Star, VMP, Unleashed, LET, etc, etc.

Even the current canned tuning on the SCT devices will address this.

Default Custom Tune

Not so much in my experience with SCT canned tunes. Yes, it made a difference over stock but did not correct Ford's "comfy slide into the next gear softly syndrome" or did it correct the premature light throttle upshift. At 72 I've experienced many different transmission shift patterns in my time - the majority of products I have owned have been Ford so this is not the first time I've run into this. Many other products I've driven over the years seem to have a more positive and responsive shift pattern than the Fords I have had in the past few years. I'm sure the tranny is solid, it has to be a software issue. No, I am not looking for the transmission to slam into gear, just would like mine to have a little more responsive shift, especially at the lower cornering speeds. WOT is fine, but that's not always a good idea on corners...

That's the beauty of a custom tune, once you load it you can judge it and have the supplier tweak it to your liking. I run 5* and MPT, I like the way MPT turns the tow/haul button into a mode switch of sorts (sport/touring).

Currently running their race tune as a DD.
