Default Cracked flywheel help!!!!

Ive got an 07 f150 240k 4wd 5.4 v8, I just recently back in June had a new transmission put in with tc and flywheel and everything’s been good up until about a week ago started making a flutter noise when you change between park to drive and park to reverse. I took it back to the shop and their saying it might be something with the motor making the flywheel crack! Before I had the new tranny put in it was making the flutter noise but all the time when you drove it and it ended up being a cracked flywheel so that’s why i recognize the noise!!! I’m at loss don’t have a clue what could be going on any help would be really appreciated!!!

It's called a flex plate, not a flywheel. Probably because it had very little mass so it really has no flywheel effect.

Sounds like you're saying that you've had a cracked flex plate before and had it fixed, before you had the new transmission and torque converter installed. Right? This is the second cracked flex plate? And it took 8 months to crack the second plate.

So the question is why does your flex plate keep cracking.

It was making that flex plate noise all the time when I drove it and then I had it looked at and the flex plate was cracked so I had a néw transmission put in with tc and flex plate!!! Fast forward 8 months later that same noise is back only when you shift into drive and reverse and then goes away after a few seconds!! I took the truck back today and let the shop look it and their telling me the motor may have something to do with cracking the flex plate. The truck runs awesome never had any problems out of it just regular maintenance!!!

Doesn't seem that you have confirmed that there is actually a problem, besides the odd noise. Did they say that the flex plate was cracked? Or are you just assuming that it is because of the noise?

!!!

They didn’t physically look at it just going by the sound he said it sounded like it was cracked!! Im just assuming it because it sounded like it was before when it was cracked!!!

What brand was the replacement flexplate? Most shops where I've worked offer at least a 1yr warranty, so they should be fixing it free this time. I'd make ferdamsher that they use all Ford parts this time, though.

This one lasted ~300Kmi.

I replaced it with the same brand.
