Your out in the sticks and getting off road so it makes sense to have it. I'm pounding concrete and asphalt all the time.

Demographics between Reserve and Gretna are two different worlds.

Most new truck's sold down here are 4x4's...lot's of fisherman and hunter's. Easy to sell a 4x4 that's in good shape for top dollar.

Haha, we have roads over here, not so much sticks. But we do have a lot of peeps that hunt and fish.

Iowa likes to have 6 month winters that can be rather brutal. I liked 4WD even with the lame OEM tires. Can't wait to tackle the snow with my current tires.

If I had 2WD, I would probably be keeping a winter/summer set. That's what I do with my wife's minivan. So I really didn't want to do that with even more expensive tires and trying to find space for them.

4WD also has higher resale value here for sure.

I'm a city slicker. Had my country home/life once upon a time.

There is a good reason why kbb.com asks for the zipcode when determining resale prices.

4x4 where I am is worthless compared to a 2wd. People opt for the 2wd for fuel economy.

Since most of the boat launches are back down's you need a 4x4 to pull a heavy boat out of the water. A 4x2 with a E-locker rear would work OK too on a lighter boat.

Missing a turn in the rain on Lapalco could result in some offroading!:D

sorry, but no. Ive always had 2wds, and had 0 issues pulling out my 6k lb Mastercraft on a tandem trailer with the LSD. hell my silverado did just fine without an LSD

That just says something about the launch. My 2WD 2.3L Single Cab ranger launched and picked up a 20' Express many times.

The issue is some launches aren't cleaned as often as they should be, if the waters up and ramp is slimmy you have to back in further, really need the front wheels to help pull cause the rear would spin other wise.
