There's only one, up in front of the cowling on the left side. This photo also shows the second one I put in just off the ActiVac, that would be closest to the engine.

Well, I replaced the valve this morning, drove to work and still heard the noise twice. Lasted for about 20-30 seconds each time so it looks like I'll talk to the dealer about it. The question is.... how many trips to the dealer until it will make the noise for them?? With my luck it won't do it for them.

That happens a lot, unfortunately. Hopefully it will act up there.
Just curious, did you replace it with the OEM, or the YG360? You could have something else going on, replacing that valve is just a quick easy, cheap way to begin, and has solved some others trouble.

Tried the YG360. Like you said, worth the 10 bucks to save the headache of taking to dealer multiple times.

It could also be the solenoid. Back when I was researching for mine last year June, most threads said solenoid. No mention of check valve.

Run it until it breaks.... Then you'll get a warranty claim (if you're still under warranty...) If not, be ready to spend a few hundreds.

I wasted 3 or 4 full days at the dealership to end up getting my truck back in the same condition. Dealer ''couldn't replicate'' the issue so they were not willing to dismantle the hub. Changed the check valve, didn't work.

They are ignorant when it comes to IWE. Ford has done nothing to solve the issue, even if it's been ongoing for a few years.

Chances are you won't be buying a Ford again if your issue persist, huh?

Ya, must be something else. It's a 2017 with 18k miles so I'm still under warranty. I'll update after taking to dealer.

Talked to someone recently who had the same problem within 20k miles. Said the local dealer knew right away about the problem and fixed it. I bought my truck from private seller so hopefully they treat me ok about it.

I'd prefer it to break so the problem is found and fixed. If I have the same issue 2-3 times depending on how they handle it I will not be buying another Ford. I'm not brand loyal at all, just liked the F150 so when it came time to get back in a truck I choose Ford.

Chances are the broken part they would replace would not be the cause of the issue, but a ''consequence''. The grinding noise you hear is from the hub trying to engage (teeth rubbing) often caused by something else than the hub itself... This said, if they only replace the hub that's shot, they won't fix the issue.

Sorry if I sound a little pessimistic, just haven't had any luck dealing with Ford since I bought mine. Came into the American car brand world after owning 10+ Japanese vehicle, and it's most likely my last American brand vehicle (except Tesla, one day ) FYI, Lexus has the most incredible costumer service on this planet. It's just crazy.
