Default Can't figure it out?

There is a squealing noise coming from my serpentine belt at the pulley for the alternator. It only squeaks for about 10 seconds when you first start the truck up. Then once the battery is fully charged and there is no strain on the alternator it will stop squeaking. At night time when I turn on the lights or any other high amped electrical components pretty much whenever there is a significant pull of electric from the alternator is when it will squeak. The alternator previously installed made the noise. The new alt. i put on didn't squeak for about two weeks then started to again. Is there a special pulley or something i can purchase to stop this squeaking? I am almost 90% positive that the serpentine belt is slipping around the pulley for the alt. whenever under stress from the battery recharging causing it to squeak. Please help cause this is been a pain in the a** for almost a year now. I do not have the time or money to go to a mechanic and am pretty mechanically inclined myself so I come hear asking for your help.

Thanks

No, the belt is not worn and is fairly new. I will try that any way and get back to you.

that doesnt matter....same thing has happened to me. What brand is the belt? Also, take off the belt and check the idler pulleys for end play.

They contain petroleum products which, of course, breakdown rubber.
