Default Buying a used Edge Programmer ?

Hey fellas, I am about to buy a used Edge Evolution programmer for a really good price. Is there anything I should worry about regarding buying a used unit. I dont really want to use super custom modes, just wanted to see if I can squeeze a few more MPG's using the tow mode etc. How can I reset it to factory settings? Any advice would be helpful before I pick up the unit tomorrow.

thanks

Just make sure it is set back to "Zero" or "Stock" since it is used. If it isn't set back to that, then it'll still be locked on another person's truck and you'll have to pay a fee to get it unlocked.

Other than that, you should be good to go. Enjoy!

Make sure it's unlocked from the vehicle it was originally connected to. If the seller has his factory program still in the edge it's useless.

He said he never customized any of the settings. Only used the factory programs from edge. I dont believe anybody when they are trying to sell something so I want to make sure. How do I go about doing this. Can I plug it into his truck and check anything.

This is my first ever programmer

When the programmer is plugged in, there should be a number in the top right hand corner of the screen. It needs to be a zero for it to be set back to stock.
If it's a 1, 2, or 3 then it isn't and you can just have him do it right there in front of you.

They can. MPG's depend mostly on driving style and are a secondary reason for a programmer. The primary purpose of them is performance gains which is also what I use mine for.

You can get a custom tune to fit your driving style and needs (whether you're looking for more power or more MPG's).

Nice. Let me/us know if you notice a difference. I have always been curious about these but never wanted to spring that much money for them.
