Brand new truck not starting

Brand new truck not starting
I bought a brand new 2012 f150 lariat on Sunday the 15th. It is just an overall fantastic truck and I loved it until last night. Last night I tried to start it and it would not start. There was only 222 miles on it and it just wouldn't start. There was a clicking noise coming from under the dash and another coming from the fuse box, but nothing other than that. The message displayed a Service Advancetrac and I looked it up and it said to call the dealer immediately. I called the guy I bought it from and he had no idea what I was talking about. Ford road assistance did come out and get the truck within the hour and it is now at a dealership. I just got off the phone with the dealership and the tech said he unplugged some wires and plugged them back up and now it is starting again, but he has no idea why it stopped. He also said I couldn't come pick it up yet until he figures out exactly why it was doing that. Everyone I have talked to has been very helpful and polite, but I am really pissed off. When trying to figure out what was wrong I googled Service Advancetrac and found nothing about a truck not starting.
Should I ask for a brand new truck? I am 23 years old and just graduated college and decided to get me a brand new f150 and this then happens. I don't know how this works, but it happened with 24hours of leaving the lot. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

If they fix it under warranty and it doesn't happen again, why would they owe you a new truck?
Had something similar happen years ago with a new car, the factory hadn't quite made the connection for the clutch safety switch and a couple of days of driving had loosened it to the point that it wouldn't make contact. they fixed it, didn't have any further issues. That's what warrantys are for.

New 2012 f150 with exactly 222 miles and it it won't start? The service tech had no idea what "Service Advancetrac" meant nor did the salesman. Just in a difficult place right now with nobody knowing what's wrong with it. I definitely don't expect them to change it out or whatever, but I am pretty worried about what's going on.

It is a machine. Sometimes machines fail, even new ones. If it bothers you that much, most dealers now days have a 60 day "Bring it back" guarantee. You might want to ask them about it. I really think you will be fine.

At least your dealer is trying to find out why it did that. They could of just "unplug and plug" it and sent it on it's way and having it quit on you again. At least they are going to make sure it doesn't do it again.

This, even if it becomes a reoccurring issue I would buy again from this dealer given they are willing to go the extra step to figure things out.

The only way you're covered by he lemon law is if it continues to be a recurring issue. Let them fix it and see what happens. I know it's frustrating but I'm sure they'll take care of you since it's under warranty still.
