Best model year
I'm almost positive im going to look into the lightly used market for a CPO XLT/Lariat. I figured I would ask here if you all know if any model years had more problems than others just form simply being on this forum for a while. BY lightly used I mean anything under 20-25k miles on it which puts me at anywhere from a 2015 into 2018. I know that some vehicles take a few years to get a specific model "right", but since I'm completely new into the Full Sized SUV market, I have not heard about anything big I should be worried about from year to year. I could be wrong, but I am assuming that's where the trucks good reliability ratings come in? ;-)
Anyway, if there is a model year I should stay clear of, I would appreciate the input. Thanks!

I think you're pretty much squared away with anything in that year range. Maybe try to look less at the 15's, as they were the first production run of the redesign. Other than that, you'll still have your warranty so you should be ok.
They're damn safe trucks, so you've got that to look forward to

2014 - Last of the steel beds and last year of that gen. There are many that will tell you they are the best trucks Ford ever built.
2015 - New gen. Aluminum bodies. Had some growing pains but mine has been flawless.
2016 - If you can find one that has the low miles and been well taken care of this is going to be your best value.
What ever truck you look at check out the service history. Check out the TSB's that might have affected it and make sure they have been applied. Take the truck to a respected/reputable dealer or independent service shop and have the truck inspected thoroughly. Take your time and don't jump on the 1st truck you see. I also believe (might sound silly) that the older the owner, the better chance the truck has not been abused. NOT always true but generally speaking it is.

I'd say go for the deal. 2014s will have a lower resale value however, because they are an older gen now, but are great trucks.
If you can find a 2016 in your price range, go for it. If you can find a 2017, it's even better. What engine were you looking for? The 3.5EB 2017 comes with the 10 speed transmission, which is a nice upgrade IMO. I like mine. Smooth and efficient!
