Default Bed lights

I did a search and can't find what I'm looking for so some ideas or tips would be appreciated. I just picked up a 2009 fx4 screw. I am looking at tonneau covers and want to put so lights underneath the bed rails to light up the bed if my cover is down. Ideally I'd like for it to light up with the cargo light. I have seen some picks on here but can't find a write up. Thanks in advance.

i cant help you with pictures or a write up but its pretty simple. just string a few LEDs together like 4 per side. ( check out superbrightleds.com their products are good and pretty cheap) once you have them wired together just mount them. 3m double sided tape works well but some people mount them up with screws. could screw them into your plastic bed liner if you ahve one.

Try this thread out. It's for a camper top, but should give you some good ideas. No write up, but some good pictures and he explains the install pretty well.

The link above is for my LED install in my cap (thanks for the positive comments!). I actually got the idea from a guy that used the same lights on his bed rails.

If you would like some further explanation, pictures or info., let me know and I would be glad to help.

Check out Bluewater Led. I put their product in my boat and have been really impressed with it. Whenever I get my topper I will be installing them in it too. Here is a picture from the boat. These are the blue ones but you can get several colors and white. They also will replace them if one goes out for as long as you own them.

Thanks for the advice everyone. What do you tap into as far as wires go to make them come on with the dome lights? Or did you just put in another switch

Hey bucket man. Are those LEDs weather proof. You said your buddy put his under his bed rails like I would like to do. Does he have a cover of any kind. I am worried about car washes or nasty weather here in wisconsin
