It all depends on what you need or want the truck for.. I love my screw 6.5" bed. I can put my 4wheeler in the bed and close the tailgate. And still be able to hook up the trailer for more quads if I need too. Plus I think the screw 6.5 bed looks bad azz jacked up with a 6in lift 35in tires. If I need this truck more for woods and mudding, I'd definitely would want the shorter wheel base truck. Another thing is I can put 8 ft 2x4's diagonally in the bed and not tie them down( with the tailgate up)

5.583 ft for me to fit in my garage. Came from a compact truck with 6ft bed so I didn't lose much. Put the tail gate down and I have 7.5ft and use straps to hold things in. Even longer loads like lumber just get a hitch mounted tailgate extender. Last resort just trailer it.

8ft bed all the way. Wish i could of gotten a 4dr f150 with a 8ft or at least a 6.5 but nope stuck with mini bed.

Any real truck that does real truck things should have an 8ft bed. Now that im in the Air Force i guess my truck is a weekend warrior and not a weekly work horse.

P.s. i know a screw 8ft bed is not made in 150s.

5.5 for me...I dont usually need the bed space and with the supercrew around town the 5.5 just works, plenty of times in the 3 months Ive had it that I would have been screwed if I had a 6.5 bed

The 6.5 ft bed works for me. I have always thought a regular cab looks much sharper with a short bed. The 8 ft. model looks too long to me. Just my opinion though!

I voted 6.5 even though I have a 5.5 but it's a tough call. the 6.5 for all functionality purposes but 5.5 for the maneuverability, fitting in the garage, etc.

6.5 bed. I 've had both and for my personal truck I like the 6.5. I need the 8' for a work truck.

Depends on the truck. IN an f150 I think the 6.5 is perfect. How ever on an HD I would only get an 8 foot, for 2 reasons, Its already HUGE, and I like HUGE, plus the longer the wheel base the more stable it is towing.

Super cab with 8ft box is the longest wheel base you can buy. Best of both worlds. Just don't do a lot of u turns. Ram trucks is considering building the long hauler that is 24ft long. I think many on here would go for that since the majority prefer everything in cab or box with tailgate closed.

I bought the 6.5 ft bed to get the extra wheelbase for towing and so I could have the option of a gooseneck. I live in a rural area and parking is not an issue but in the big city, man is my truck a PITA. They don't make parking spots for 20' long, wide trucks.
