I had one just like it on my '02 Dakota. Pretty useful, especially for a SB. Especially for throwing small things back there so they won't move around (think grocery bags or similar).

If I recall correctly, they slide into and out of a bracket (maybe part of what White4by4 posted), the same one you used to flip it to the interior of the bed or back out over the tailgate.

Hey Whitie, I am glad I bought it today for ONly 40 buckaroos! I don't think he new what he had, or he was just super wealthy. Anyways, it's just like new.

Now, I don't get someething. The thing flips over when inside the truck, and helps keeps grocerys from running around. And then, you flip it over and it extends the bed. Ok, now the top "pivot" point has this round bolt that juts out into the recessed part of the bed. Is this why I need to order these parts? For the reciever part that goes into the top pivot point?

Yup, It has this round plunger that you can hit with the heel of your hand, and pushes this big bolt thing into the "pivot part." I think I need to order parts for this part?

Every bed extender I've ever had has ended up in the attic of the garage or storage shed. Too much putzin' around. The tailgate will hold what you wanna haul, and tie down/ratchet straps under the back seat are a must for anyone who "uses" a truck. Drop the tailgate and strap in the cargo.

Those parts I sent are the bolts that go into your box sides so it can pivot! I'm under the impression you didn't get them and ONLY the bed extender am I correct?

The "plungers" are to stop it from pivoting when you have it in either direction (a safety thing)
All you need is the 2 bolts and your golden!!

Yes, just the aluminum unit. Glad no rust.
