Default BCM Replacement

As the title says, my son’s 2014 F150 ecoboost BCM apparently has water damage. I bought a second hand BCM that wok but not all functions work properly. Anybody have any leads on where to get original one fixed or another second hand. If you need the numbers off the back of original one I can get those for you. TIA

If you have Forscan on a pc you can download and apply the as built data to the BCM. I've done this myself to correct a hyperflashing turn signal issue on my 2014 FX4. The program will allow you to backup the current data just in case something goes wrong. You should be able to Google some videos on the process.

I do have both, I did as built on the hvac system and the same issue occurs, took truck to a mechanic friend who can control the hvac system and he programmed it and it takes for 5 min but reverts back to same issue. I wonder if I need to put the original radio back in and do the as built. 🤔

Did you load as built data to BCM. I was under the impression you started having issues after water intrusion in the BCM are you having the same issues with the new BCM as the old one?

new one the hvac stopped working, took that bcm out and swapped in a different bcm from junkyard and now bcm and hvac have a miscommunication signal.

You should download as built data to the new BCM when i worked for Ford the new BCMs only came loaded with the basics and you would take the data from the old BCM before you removed it and uploaded to the new one or if it was damaged beyond being able to do that you would load the as built data

I took it to a ford dealership and they installed the other BCM from another F150 so I would assume that they would’ve done that.
Does the numbers on the back of the BCM matter?

Not really the part # just means it fits your truck Ford tells you to PMI meaning to transfer your data to match your options or apply the as built data.
What isn't working? Do you have any codes that won't clear.

yes I do have permanent codes as I was told. When I scanned them these are what populated::

C1278-20
C1963-0
U0428-F0

B1596-E0
P160A:00-2F
P160A:00
P1705:00
on of them was hvac lost communication.
The A/C heater option isn’t working. The fan blows one speed and it can’t be controlled by the ***** or radio. I upgraded his radio from the factory 4.2 screen to a bigger screen using the K150 bezel with maestro rr. Everything is flashed correctly on that end.
