I don't understand how running a secondary charge wire in tandem with the factory connection directly from the alternator to the battery would be bad. The battery saver function shuts off modules and functions to prevent battery drain, or in the case of the Auto Start, would prevent Auto Start feature from shutting down the engine. Running a secondary charge wire to charge the battery would help keep the battery topped up. Or am I missing something I haven't learned about yet?

Essentially, the "upgrade" I was thinking of in particular was running a secondary charge wire direct from the charging terminal of the alternator directly to the positive battery terminal. The factory wiring should take care of this, but since I have not had time to look at the system myself, I can't say where the factory charging wire goes to, how big it is, etc.

If anyone is willing to try this, definitely use a larger gauge, fine strand wire. If you don't know how to do this, do not perform this upgrade or DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST.

Search for "car audio big three upgrade"
Dealer put in a new battery which cured the other issues. They forgot to reset the system when the new battery went in. After the reset the auto start/stop works perfectly.

Can you point me in the right direction? Owners manual came up short, this forum came up short, as did Google, so I'm going to go with 'no' in an attempt to learn more.

Been searching for hours now. Still can't find any information on how the Battery Saver system works and why it's a "really bad idea."

Going on day 2 now and still haven't found any information. Gotta love the "Do a search" guys...answer to any question apparently is "Do a search." One would think the reason why a question is asked is because the answer isn't easily found...

I guess I'll just keep "doing a search".
