will an AOD transmission from a mustang or t-bird or any other ford vehicle fit in a f150 with an I6 300 engine?

Most likely not. You are really gonna want a truck tranny anyhow those motors make (i will get an argument here but oh well) a lot of torque. The car trannies are a bit mroe frail and in stock trim just wont take the same type of abuse a truck tranny will.

As I recall the last AOD was used in 91 and that was in a Lincoln with the first 4.6L engine. Up to that year the AOD would bolt up to any engine that used the C3,C4 or similar 3-speeds.

But why mess with the AOD (unless you're gettng the tranny for nothing) when the E40D or 4R70W is available?
