Ok, here's my solution(s) for a better sound tone, fit a 18"-2' length of light copper pipe to the tail end of the pipe, experiment with 2 deep hacksaw cuts about 3 & 6 inches from the end, you may want to add more, that's for the sound for economy out of the rear end and if you have facilities make a large cone 5" dia down to just 1" larger in diameter than the exhaust, another smaller cone fits in the opposite direction on the end of the large cone. Fit so as the end of the smaller cone has the end of the tail pipe just inside the end. Air rushes down the cone creates a suction and helps to pull the exhaust fumes from the pipe!! Good luck!!

i heard about that flowmaster 40 muffler but it just about makes anything sound good i heard. i did have a glass pack on my truck before i took it off and ran a straight pipe. i heard of a kid putting a y pipe then two glass packs then another y pipe then back out to stock position. and i heard from some1 that said you really cant hear a thing. i know i could maybe make it sound better if i get new headers and elminate the cats. i would like to do that but then if i get cought without them on.

i got a friend who cut off one cat and hollowed the other one out and run a 4 inch diesel exhaust just in front of the passenger rear tire. but that thing was loud as f@#k and very annoying. but if your wantin to turn heads it worked. as far as sound quality no matter what you go with, it s gonna sound pretty much the same. but he did go through an o2 sensor about every 6 months.
