Default Alarm

Hi everyone,

I am looking to put an alarm on my truck. I would like some input on some good systems. Not to concerned about price, however cheap would be nice.. I just want a good system w/remote start. Thanks

I have a Python ( its made by DEI same people who make Clifford and Viper ). I got the remote start, tilt sensor, glass shatter sensor, and back up battery. It works really well ( that all depends on who you get to install it, find someone you trust!), only thing you may want to be aware of is that when it storms and your truck is parked outdoors it will set off the alarm due to the mic picking up the sound that rain hitting the glass makes. Easy work around for that is to arm the factory remote lock and keep the "Enhanced Alarm" disarmed. A bit of caution you probably want to stay away from the gimmick of "Photo's sent to the remote" as that doesnt work 100%, and if it says that works via satilite or 3G networks you will more than likely need a subscription service ( that ranges from 50 - 1200 per year) plus increases the complexity of the system and you will need to a clear "signal" in order for it to work right.

Thanks that helps. I want a good alarm just without all that fancy stuff. I had my truck broken into this past weekend so i need something. I had a Viper alarm system before and I likes it...

But if you liked it, why look anywhere else?
You don't like your own opinion, or it doesn't count????
Good experience should equal repeat business shouldn't it???

Well, shucks, didnt say 18 years ago!!!!
Things might have changed some, espically with bidirectional, cellphone and such.
I had a viper on a previous car, and it worked good.
Had a avital phoenix, worked good too but $$.
I'm not an alarm nerd, so that's about a good as you'll get from me I'm afraid.
Good luck.
