I was told today that an error code showed up saying that I have a mass airflow valve problem. Can someone tell me what this does and what the problems might be. I have no problems that I know of with the truck.

 

You have whats called a mass airflow sensor. It tells the computer how much air is coming into the engine so it knows the approx. amount of fuel to add to it for proper combustion. ITs rare for the mass flow meter to actually send a code. There really must be a problem with it. Put a new one on clear the codes and enjoy your truck. Its easy to install and any generic code reader can clear the codes for you.
