Default 93 F150 problem

Here's my problem. I purchased my 2nd F150 (1993 version) last week knowing it needed a shift cable. I would just order whatever I need to fix it, when I got it home and started to look into it futher I found that the bracket that holds the cables in place for the shifter and kickdown was missing. This is a 5.0 V8 w/AOD (NOT EAOD), Ford no longer makes this part. I have called maybe 100 wrecking yards across the country and also trans shops with no luck. Does anyone have this bracket, can I change the AOD out with a C6, any ideas? I have spent the last 4 days looking for this part with no luck. HELP, I want to drive my truck.

I don't think it has to be from a '93, see if you can find any older ones. Grab some from some other model transmissions, whatever you can find, and try modifying it. You should be able to make something work. Not as easy as just bolting on the right part, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Suggest going to a tranny shop. Some shops get the tranny's out of wrecked trucks, rebuild them and use them in thier exchange program. As this part is not normally changed they probably throw them away.

I think the older trucks use linkage not cable or some combo of this. I was not able to find anything in the yards I walked I could use.

Been there done that. Called shops , at least 50, all over the country.
This is a very rare bird for some reason.

As far as the shift linkage, look at anything with a floor mounted shifter, cars, trucks, whatever. They will have a bracket for a cable that you may be able to modify. I suggest looking at Mustang transmissions of the same approximate year.
