I do mechanic work on the side and have done dozens of leveling kits. I charge $100 to install them.

AutoSpring Leveling Kit = $95
Labor To Install = $100
Alignment @ Ford = $80

Grand Total $275

When I see people post quotes like this it makes me so happy to be able to do all of my own work. I wouldn't have been able to build half the trucks I have if I had to pay labor for everything.

AMEN to that!! Paid $1,000 for my lift kit, 5 hrs and an alignment later, the bill is still $1,000. Wish I could say the same for dental work, had 2 root canal's done yesterday and with 2 crowns and all the other crap $7,000.

I'm about 30 mins West of New Orleans. Smack dab in the middle of New Orleans & Baton Rouge. I plan for 2 hrs but it's normally done quicker!

$500 isn't a "holy crap" number ... but it's definitely at the upper end of the price range if you ask me - if you're talking about leveling spacers (and not new coilovers, etc.)

Think this way:

Leveling Kit (shipped): $125
Install (3 hours labor): $260
Alignment: $60

That's $445 ... and I'm using middle-of-the-road pricing for everything. Some people can/will spend less on a kit than others ... some shops charge more/less for labor ... some shops can get the work done more quickly ... so on and so forth.

That's too high. I bought a MotoFab 2" kit, $55. 1 hour installation and an alignment by the local shop, $170. $235 total, so I think $500 is way too high. If it takes a shop 3 hours to put a spacer on top of your front strut, find a new shop.

Depends on the year of the truck. I know for a fact that the 2014's can take a bit more to get the strut out, and then get it back in w/ the added height due to the spacer. A lot more to disassemble and then put back together. Also, depending on the kit (for a 2014), you may have to compress the spring and spin the top cap 180 degrees to get the spacer in proper alignment for reinstallation. All of these things can take time.

My whole point was/is, there is no set price for installing these things ... prices vary on kits, labor rates vary ... time spend on labor varies, and prices for alignments vary ...

All anyone can do is shop around and try to get a set fee to perform the install and alignment so that you know what it's going to cost going in.

Save up for your lift kit and tires, a level looks off to me with the stock tires on it anyway.

There are different types of leveling kits. Check to see what it all comes with (some come with control arms). Some are basically top spacers. Some come with new control arms. Overall that seems about right. Should be around $230 if using ReadyLift, Installation is about an hour or 2, and an alignment should be around $60-$80. So depending on their hourly rate. Some places can be cheaper. Depends on if you trust the shop doing the work.
