50% Tint?
[quote=Nettek;953550]Just got off the phone with a window tint shop.
He said he would not match the 20% tint on back windows and would go with 50%.
His reason was that it's still illegal for very dark tint in illinois and he could get in trouble.
Question is....Is 50% too light? Will I be happy with it? I have no idea how it will look until it's on.

My 05 ranger with 50%, it's really light

Factory on the back, 20% on the sides and 39% on the front

You just have to remember it is illegal to run a stop sign, you dont get pulled over everytime. However it is just a matter of time until you will... Is the action worth it. In California it is illegal and you get a fix it ticket that comes with a fine if you do get stopped. So it is not really a matter of whats illegal, is it worth committing the crime in the first place? I am not going to thake the chance, I figure I dont need a rookie cop thinking I had to shoot I thought he had a gun I could not see in the car because of the tint... No thanks....
Do you go to Custom Dave's in Mooresville? They did my F150. 18% on the front two matched the factory perfectly. They also do great work for a reasonable price.
