Default 5.0 L engine bay

I looked under the hood for the first time since I bought my new truck and WOW was I suprised.

You guys have probably seen my threads of constant complaining about my f150 because I switched from a dodge to a Ford and the things Ford cuts corners on amazes me.

I have never seen an engine bay look so sloppy it looks like 2 kids with 20 rolls of electrical tape started hacking away. Is this on every 5.0 L or did mine get out together by said kids.

On the other hand I saw my buddies 3.5 engine bay which looked pretty clean?!

It's a truck not a show car. First thing I did before I even test drove it was to pop the hood and get an eye full, might be because of my career as a tech that it's sort of just what I do on anything I buy with an engine.

Well, what does the Ram engine look like? I also always check things out for maintenance by myself. I did kind of miss that plug changing on my current '02.

Cant say I have ever worried about the cosmetics of the engine bay as long as the truck performed as intended

How does a bunch of hanging tape become excusable because it's a truck?

This is one of the first things I noticed when my truck was new.

Maybe the truck won't fall apart on the highway because of it, but it sure isn't a sign of quality.
