no i started to tear into it but i decided to just let a mechanic look at it. unfortunately right now i have no money for it

 

On mine I think the transfer case is stuck in gear 1. because the front drive shaft always spins and 2. because the 4X4 light in the dash is always on so I think the two are related. When I flip the shift on the fly switch the indicator lights do not change BUT I hooked my truck up to a scanner and you can see the switch change when you move it.

 

well, i got a GEM from the junkyard but i dont know if its the right one since there was like 8 different ones. he said if the numbers dont match, bring it back.

 

So I got mine fixed. All I hade to do was clear the codes out of the transfer case and it started working. I guess it has a safty thing where it wont let it work if there is a code.

 

well,it was the wrong one so i took it back and he said the only ones he could find are located on the east coast he said he will have it in a week from friday

 

the new(to me) GEM arrived today and now my 4WD works perfectly. thanks for everybodys help
