I used to mud/dirt drag..... Most track i ran 4wd the full length of the track.... Its not very forgiving launching on pavement... And it doesnt work well the pushbutton/switch's ... Need a transfer shifter to do it correctly...

All you do is .. After getting going well... shift into 2wd and grab a higher gear(most of the tim.)...blip the throttle... Very hard on everything... Not for daily drivers.

2 weeks from now, we'll see a thread about a broken transfer case, how much Ford is junk, and that they are buying a Chevy.

Someone please explain why running in 4hi on a straight 1/4 mile is going to cause damage.

I understand perfectly well why you don't want to run 4wd for regular driving on dry pavement. Tight turns with high tire friction=bad things happening to front end drive components.

Lol, well the truck is already in the shop with 0 compression on cylinder 4 so I doubt the transfer case is gonna change my mind about Ford.. Still you'd never catch me in a Chevy lol.
