The definitally have a lot more life but im goin to college 6 hours away and their gunna wear fast going up and down visiting home. ive got about 30k miles on em. I also do offroad every time it rains, on weekends, and i also do spin my tires when i get bored driving around . So if you dont drive like me youll get hopefully 70k out of them...at least thats what Nitto says they get.

My friend has 315 duratracs on his hummer, 30k miles and there isn't much of a difference between those and the brand new spare he has.

I recommend those.

Or cooper discoverer ST's or stt's.

Coopers are American made.

Going to college I'd say stick to nitto and get and terra grapps and have the looks and some off road capabilities in A/T..6hr drive you'll want to be comfortable...

^x2 nitto terra grapps would be best for your situation. they're also one of the the few a/t tires i think looks good in big sizes on lifted trucks.

I heard the Nitto Terras werent good in rain?? True or false..I dont want to recommend something thats not true...

Also, if you have any doubts 37's will/wont fit, measure your tire where it is closest to the body (fender or valence) and see if you have an extra 1" clearance. 37's will be 2" bigger than the 35's (DUH), so that is 1" of tire on each side of the rim.

Whoa, dude! You can't just go throw 37" tires on your truck. What is your current gear ratio? You have to gear down to run tires that big or you will kill your tranny, lose tons of power, and use way more fuel. Forget about the gap in the wheel well for now. I would re-gear then add tires if you feel you must. Even 35's are too much without proper gearing. I run 33" tires on my off-road F1 just because 35"-37" tires are not practical for the type of bonzin' that I do. I have glass fenders because I widened the front by 6" and have have a lot of wheel travel with my RaceRunner coilovers. I do not have long travel. Definitely don't need it. Mine is not a trophy truck, but it will keep up with almost any long travel prerunner out there. I go with functionality over looks. I'm very surprised that nobody on this thread mentioned anything about your gearing. Trust me on this. Google the minimum safe gear ratio for 37" tires. I think 4:56 is where you need to start. I am geared down to 4:10 and that is with 33s.

You might want a little more power to push those bad boys too.

Woah woah..I am new to this pre-runner stuff but how can you say that(above in bold) and you didnt change anything other than the coilovers? (essentially, by looking at your pic you put up) Just adding 3" spacers to widen the track width cant be advantageous can it??

Look, I am in no way being mean/disrespectful Zing, I am just curious how that works when you dont change lower control arms, upper control arms, or any of the geometry...Like I said, I dont know much about the desert race/dune scene but am curious how yours works.

Sorry OP for the side question... Zing is sorta right about the 37's and not regearing. You can run 37's on 3.73 gears but I hope you dont plan on towing/hauling/offroading/going up huge hills. Your tranny will be super pissed at you!!! haha. I am running 35's on 3.73 gears but dont haul or tow. I took a power hit but it's nothing I cry myself to sleep about. 37's look great on your truck but like you said, since you are going to college and will be traveling the 6hrs back home, they might not be the "best" choice.
