Default 3.5 or 5.0 engine

Anyone towing with these engines; I am in the process of purchasing a 2011-2012 f150 and would like to find out the pros and cons of each. Currently have an 2002 f150 sc 5.4. It pulls my 29 ft 7500 GVW satisfactory so I do not need the 6.2.
I have read many stories about the 3.5 being a rocket on wheels but I need to know how they tow not when they are being driven solo.

Real lift Pros and Cons of these engines.

They tow great, but get about 7 mpg doing it from what I've heard. I'm getting a5.0 or a6.2 when I trade in my 2010

If I were in your same boat, I would look hard at the 6.2. Just my opinion, I like the simpler motors.

To those posting, don't turn this into ANOTHER Ecoboost vs 5.0 flame war either... Just fair warning.

To me, the difference and decision made was easy..
I dont tow anything and if I do its just a small trailer with a few motorcycles on it. I went with the 5.0 but if your going to be towing heavy items, Id go with the 3.5 since the torque is a bit more then the 5.0. This is just my .02...

x2

I tow 3 bales of hay a few times a year and the 5.0l does just fine. If you are towing towards the upper limits you would probably be more happy wit the 3.5l.

My uncles, neighbors cousin told me that too.

That statement is just way too broad without stating how much weight or what type of trailer.
