It's not really about what you can or cannot see, it's what the attorney can get the jury to believe. It would be very easy for one to bring in the people from NHTSA et al, and from the state, to explain how their numbers of legality were arrived at, and that testimony is against your argument of I can see better with it. You may be right, but you'll probably lose with the jury. Not trying to tell anyone what to do with their truck, just throwing it out there for food for thought. IMO it would be hard to defend in court if you wind up in a fatality.

I'm not planning on hiring you as my attorney if i have an accident... so don't worry about that... I have 2 vehicles, both very dark tint... I've always had 5-15% tint on my cars and trucks.... If i'm involved in a crash due to my tinted windows, thats my problem, not yours... Not sure where you live, (except it your name says 'kentucky') but i grew up in kentucky and i've never been hassled over tinted windows "yet"... but if i get hassled or ticketed, etc, thats my problem... there's tons of cars out here in my area with illegal tint, and those of us who have it usually know the consequenses of the cops stop us....

basic question here: does 20% tint mean that 20% of the light is allowed to pass through? so 5% tint is much darker?

so if florida law is that front windows have to let 28% of light through, i need to get 28% or higher tint?

there's no 28% tint, either 25 or 30% - it runs in 5% increments.... If the law says 28, then that would equal 30% tint - with 2% for a margin of error... Ours is 35% front, 18% rear... Since there's no "18%" most people going legal will get 20% - but 15% will pass on side rears and back window... a legal of 35% you can run 30% and it willl pass..

i have an 06 scab. I matched the front at 35% with the rest of the truck. Now being a current cop and highway patrol in n.y.c nothing on the front except what comes from the factory is legal. That goes for ny, nj, ct, and pa..But what ever:glare:. it looks perfect like factory.
