this is the way I see it. the truck is 4 years old and has 208k miles on it. which means it was was always on the road. I don't think there was enough time for the truck to be serviced regularly

Hell, there wasn't enough time for it to even cool down. It's a 2016, so it's actually only 3 years old and that averages out to close to 70,000 a year.

I’ll be the first to be on the other side of the coin. If it was driven That much in 4 years, I see that as a dependable vehicle. It also made it to 200k so odds of it going to 300k are very high. Having said that, I wouldn’t pay a dime over $10k. I would search deep in the service records or even contact the prior company for maintenance. If it had bearings/ball joints and fluid changes, why wouldn’t it go another 100k?

As always I'd try to get a better price, and if $15K is the asking price I'd be surprised if they don't come off a good bit. You might get that truck closer to $12K. You can afford to replace/rebuild a lot of parts with the money saved. I'm not saying , "go for it". But I'd not rule it out just yet either. Lotta trucks out there with 300-400K on original parts.
Well said my dude.

I wonder why they are getting rid of a 3 to 4 year old truck. Do they know something from previous experience?

If they have maintenance records (complete records) I'd look that over and then decide whether or not negotiations take place.

In this case, no service records will mean walking away for me. Hell as much as it was driven their want much time for it to spend in a garage

You might be surprised the amount of maintenance that can take place in skilled hands in a very short amount of time.

I’m kind of wondering if this truck is the 2.7EB that was talked about in one of the mileage threads.
It belonged to the guys buddy that did hotshot deliveries. Mostly highway miles and claimed to follow the factory service recommendations.

Does anyone else remember that thread?
