2018 F150 3.5L Ecoboost vs 2.7L Ecoboost?

I'd get the bigger 3.5L. More power, and likely will hold its value better than the 2.7. I know if I were buying used, I'd pass on the 2.7 and opt for more power (assuming both truck were same) in the 3.5L. Nobody wishes they had less power.
Other than resale, if you are using your truck more like a car, both would fit the bill nicely.
Then get a new Hubby. : ) j/k

I would refer you to the OP's 2nd post. That is why I responded as I did. As noted, if he doesn't want a V8 because of the mileage, its not that different. I was just sharing my personal experience with the current 5.0L and local driving.

Honestly having owned one; the little 2.7L should fit the bill for you. Unless your towing or hauling something heavy in the bed often you won't notice the difference and fuel economy will be the best of the bunch.

Drive both, choose one. I chose the 2.7, it felt perkier than the 3.5, and it’s as quick or quicker depending on which test or who is testing.
2.7 feels like a budget option, I know, but it’s a helluva engine with the twin turbos.

As mentioned more than a few times I echo that the 2.7 would be perfect for your needs.
As far as determining real world gas mileage for the three engines fuelly.com is your best resource for real world averages.
The 2.7 definitely takes them all on the MPG's

I have the 3.5L EB and love it, but it is what I wanted. If I were just going to use my truck for daily driving then I would have went with the 2.7L. Has more than enough power, and is very quick. I'm echoing all the other's. If you plan on purchasing a larger trailer or camper later on down the road then go with the 3.5L. My 3.5L gets about 18 mpg in the city and about 20.5 on the hwy (depending on how I drive it) I average about 18.8 mpg combined. I have a good feeling if I had the 2.7 I would be averaging about 21-22 mpg combined. I also have a 4x4.

As expected you’ll get tons of opinions on this question. Truthfully though I doubt that most people could tell the difference between the two engines if they were blind folded and sitting in the front passenger seat. All 3 of today’s F150 engines have significantly more power and torque than the v8’s of just a few years ago regardless of the truck brand.
Both engine choices will do what your wanting to do with no problem. Buy the truck you like the best and can get the best deal on. I have the 2.7 and love it.
