Default 2018 Coils going bad

I’m new here and have a question about an on going problem I’ve been having with my 18 F150 3.5 eco boost with 84,000 miles. The problem is I keep having coils go bad starting at 82k miles so I replaced them all about 500 miles ago within the first 200 miles one went bad on cylinder 6 now cylinder 2 is bad. What’s weird is if u clear the code it’s fine until u get past 3k RPMs then the truck starts shaking horribly and check engine light comes on and it’s always a bad coil. Has anyone else had their eco boost eat up coils in this way? I e took it to 2 shops and they can’t find anything.

How are you narrowing it down to coils and not sprak plugs or something else?

I also forgot to mention that I replaced all the spark plugs with factory plugs.

Are the coils also factory? There have been a few posts on here about problems when using aftermarket coils.

I put in standard brand coils. I was wondering if it was them but didn’t want to buy 6 new Ford coils and end up with the same issues.

It's your coils. OEM coils are the equivalent of high performance, professional racing coils of the 2010's while aftermarket coils for street cars are pretty much the same as they were in the mid 90's.

Did you replace the boots as well? Those need to go anytime you install new plugs, let alone new coils. Replacing boots along with the plugs, before the plugs hit the max gap tolerance, increases coil life. Only had one coil die in 250,000 miles on my 2003 Escape.

I did replace the coils and the boots along with the plugs. I guess I will just try the Ford coils. The parts store said they would take back the standard coils. Thanks for the help!

Default Having this same issue with my 2018

I'm having this issue every time I gas it hard. Truck starts to bog and codes pop up. Misfire cylinder 1 and 6. Haven't replaced them yet, planning to do so this weekend. Has someone figured out why this is happening?
