Default 2016 XLS Remote Start

I don't understand why I have to press the lock twice the middle button twice to get the truck to start? 1, I feel bad for my neighbors as I have to make my horn blow at 4 am ever morning. 2, why the hell do I have to press 5 buttons to get it to remote start? That's ridiculous!
Is there any other options to not wake up the neighborhood or make it easier to start when you are tired?

Have you used Forscan?

I believe you can disable "CarFinder" and it will disable the horn honk when repeatedly pressing the FOB "Lock" button

What is Forscan?

How do you disable the horn?

clear out a few hours and start reading that thread (thanks Martian)

You can search for "remote start honk" or something. I think the CarFinder program is the one that honks when hitting lock repeatedly.

I think you can turn off that honk on the second lock press. It is in your manual?

Do you have factory remote start? I only press the lock button once, then my middle "x2" button twice. Horn never goes off.

Default remote start

I am starting to wonder if there is a way to add an aftermarket remote start to the 16f150? I have been driving fords for years and I know about the PATS system. My 03 focus had a Zenesis Alarm with a remote start. The had to install a small device that remembered the PATS code so it could start. I would still have to put the key in and turn to start before I could drive.

But since 05 the new model focus has a different PATS type system or it is not even a PATS system.

This brings me to my question. My f150 has the flip key and I am not sure if it is PATS so how can a remote start be installed?

I am thinking of getting the viper alarm system for it.

can it work?

You only have to push lock once, start twice.
