I would encourage anyone that is having the same problem to contact Ford service from this forum. They have been great on following up and documenting everything.

Out of curiosity, does anyone else have a random groaning noise when the truck shifts from 3-4 and the engine is under load... Like going up a large hill?
I don't have to go up a large hill. I can hold it in 3rd and get it to do it. Mines going in again for the last time, after that ford can have it......

Hey Sacmaster,

I got your PM and responded with your case escalation info. Keep me posted as things progress.

Reach out to me via PM, frank2013; I want to see how I can help. Include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership in your message. I'll get to work.

Roger1, mine does the same as yours and always has. This issue occurs in motion as well as stationary. Its just more difficult to detect with wind/road noise while going down the road...

I left mine at the dealer today and gave them a copy of the TSB as well as a link to this thread. I told them I have a video but they were not interested. I'll let you know how it goes.

Here is the video of my symptoms - it was a little more quiet this time than it is usually for whatever reason. When I open the hood you can see me feeling the cooler and line. Both are vibrating with the noise.

Robeport, that is the same noise my truck is making. I did hear back from my dealer yesterday and they said the part is in. I'm going to try to get it in this week. I'll let everyone know if it fixes it.

Just got a call back and they acknowledged it may be the valve body but they are going to throw parts at it instead and replace a hose first (even after I showed them the TSB and this thread) They have to order the part so it will more than likely be the end of this week into next week before it is installed. I have a strong feeling that I will be making a return trip back next week with the same symptoms.

Great Video. My kit has been in for a month. Have not heard the noise since. Just by that video and feeling the trans cooler hoses Ford Engineers can figure this one out. You should not have to reproduce it for them. Im sure there will be a service bulletin out dedicated to the F150 real soon.

I hope so. The ford service lady called me and left a message. She basically said the techs needed to be able to reproduce the sound. Of course they couldn't, but I actually haven't heard it in about a week.

That video is spot on for what mine is doing! As I said before: If you want your Dealer to replicate the problem. Tell them to use chassis ears to listen to cooler lines while driving 35-45mph in 3rd gear (manually hold 3rd gear). My drain back valves should be in this week! I'll report back once I have them installed.

Anyone else notice any lunging in 3rd or 4th gear?? If yours has been repaired already, did the fix remedy the lunging?
